The
Angimbé Relais 4 star country hotel is...
...ocated in an idyllic corner of rural
Sicily amid stunning natural landscape and yet
only a few miles from the coast. In the comune
di Calatafimi-Segesta, so named after the Segesta
ruins nearby, our verdant location is easily accessible
by motorway, and here in the Sicilian region of
Trapani there’s so much to see we’d
highly recommend hiring a car.
Castellammare
The well-known coastal town of Castellammare
is just 15 minutes north by road. This charming
fishing port has existed for millennia and remains
a popular escape for residents of the capital
city, Palermo.
Segesta Ruins
Segesta was a major city in the time of the Elymian
people - an ancient race of indigenous Sicilians
who predate the Romans. Given that this island
has been invaded or otherwise compromised by just
about every civilisation from the ancient Greeks
to the Nazis, something so purely Sicilian is
something of a rarity. The major landmark here
is the Doric Temple of Segesta and you’ll
be pleased to know that the Angimbé Relais
is very conveniently located for exploration of
this great archaeological site!
Directions...
Take the A29 heading west from the island’s
capital city (and main airport), Palermo. After
about 50 km (31 miles) take the exit marked Alcamo
Ovest then follow the SS113,
followed by the SP11 to Calatafimi-Segesta.
